First 1/4 of the book - I was unimpressed, thought the characters were boring and wondered why I was still reading - is Gary Shteyngart wasting my time? Next 1/4 of the book - I started to be fascinated by the book's world/future history. The last half of the book was completely amazing - the characters and world became a horrible/wonderful/sad/amazing/gut-wrenching journey in a future New York where both the people/city/tech were all uncomfortably plausible. This is a tough/great read!
