I am a long time fan of William Gibson, and while the Bigend/Blueant books are quite different from his earlier works I am still a fan! Like Pattern Recognition and Spook Country (the other books currently sharing the same 'world' as Zero History) Zero History's setting is very close to 'today' and to some extent the book is populated with recognizable characters and settings - but part of the joy of the book is that the familiar is exaggerated and distorted in fascinating and interesting ways...
